S02 and S03. Friday 13 February,
At 6 pm, invitation to consonni (c/conde Mirasol 13, Bilbao) to see their display windows covered by the almost 200 postcards received.
At 18.30 we’ll be meeting up in a Shared Room of One’s Own called Skolastika (c/ Berastegi 1, 1º izq, dept.10, Bilbao).
S02_From HPC consonni to HCP Skolastika. This is a school of literature written by women where literary workshops are run and training in feminist literary criticism is offered. Josune Muñoz opens up her school to us (and, as in the case of Azar Nafisi, it is also her house) and suggests an excursion through some volumes of her generous library of women’s comic books.
S03_Log. Presentation. In this poster too, just like in any seafarers’ logbook worth its salt, important events in a voyage are recounted from the viewpoint of the person writing the narrative. To give shape to this publication, creative artist Helena González Sáez has produced a graphic mapping in poster format of the micro-stories, micro-poems, drawings and collages that answered the question What is Ipsilamba? contained in the postcards, each with its own number and registered according to date of receipt. C’mon, baby, do the Ipsilamba with me! Follows on from Ultramarino, the proposal made by Fermín Jiménez Landa for consonni’s HPC programme about the immensity of the ocean and the epic that peaked with ranchera-type tales and a whale-spotting voyage. From that journey, Mabi Revuelta rescues the story, trace or record through a logbook, bitácora in Spanish, –a word deriving from the French bitacle, for habitacle, the latter coming from the Latin habitaculum (in English, room; in Spanish, habitación).
From 4 October until 1 December postcards were handed out and also posted into letter boxes spread over different strategic and complicit spots in the city of Bilbao. Civic centres, shops, bars… Dispatches of transoceanic postcards were also made where all sorts of accomplices collected contributions. Surprising and unexpected proposals were received by post. Plus, two public sessions were held and this logbook was made in the shape of a poster.
HPC @MR_S01. Lounge at consonni
Thursday 16 October 2014, at 7 pm 19.00 in consonni
consonni turns into an improvised lounge where teas, pastries and biscuits can be sampled. A warm and welcoming place to relax among rugs and cushions on loan from friends and relations, share the first stories and paw the first postcards. In the company of the usual accomplices and people interested in the project, a time for reading and collective composition, moments to savour the taste of tales, and play with words, among tea-charged aromas, gentle music, good atmosphere.

Mabi Revuelta
Studied Fine Arts at the University of the Basque Country and graduated in 1990. She then began to show her work professionally, with regular exhibitions in galleries, art centres, fairs and national and international museums, making her career as a plastic artist compatible with art education. From 2000 until 2003 she lived in New York, completing her training in the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) in 2003 having received an arts grant from the Marcelino Botín Foundation.
Among her shows are those organized for the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao; the ISCP, New York; the Cervantes Institutes in Beijing, China and Tokyo, Japan; the Museum of Sex, New York; Museo ARTIUM, Vitoria; Museo TEA, Tenerife; Casa Encendida, Madrid and the Bilbaoarte Foundation. Her next individual show will take place at the Museo ARTIUM in Vitoria-Gasteiz in 2015.
